It Happened at the Crosswalk

Sometimes, what we need most arrives at life's crossroads.

Maybe it's been a heavy week. Maybe your heart's been carrying more than usual. And then, out of nowhere, something—or someone—shows up with exactly the message you need to hear. A moment of grace. A divine intersection.

That's what happened one busy afternoon in Mississauga, Ontario. The streets buzzed with movement—people rushing by, conversations blending into the hum of city life. Amid the noise, Jamin was crossing an intersection of the town square with Pastor Pierre from RAMP Church during the outreach portion of a ShareWord Global Ignite Event.

At that literal crossroads, he bumped into a woman named Alison.

Something in her eyes made him pause. He felt a quiet prompting and asked, "Would you like someone to pray with you?"

That question opened the door to a story that's hard to forget.

Alison was a follower of Jesus who had come from London to Mississauga with her husband and their two-year-old child, hoping to start fresh. But tragedy struck, and she lost both her husband and her child. With no remaining family, she now walks through life alone.

And yet, Alison's faith remains unshaken. She identifies first and foremost as a child of God, leaning on Him for strength and guidance. Her resilience in the face of unimaginable loss has inspired everyone who's met her.

Jamin prayed with her, offering comfort and spiritual support. In the middle of a bustling town square crosswalk, God met Alison at her own crossroads—sending someone to speak truth and encouragement in a pivotal moment.

That moment led to something even deeper. Pastor Pierre joined the conversation, and together he and Jamin invited Alison to an upcoming Friends and Family event hosted by the church. They arranged transportation so she could attend church services, and the team made sure to stay connected, committed to walking alongside her as she begins to heal and reconnect with other believers.

This is the kind of moment you help make possible—a quiet encounter at a crossroads that became a turning point in one woman's life. A grieving widow and mother, standing at the edge of loss and loneliness, met someone who offered her support, community, and hope.
